When everyone seems neglected about this place, I was curious about how this place looks like.<\/p>\n<p>It consists of one large and six smaller islands in East Malaysia.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1380\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1380\" style=\"width: 770px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1380 size-full\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"770\" height=\"711\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1380\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">https:\/\/www.tempatmenarik.my\/pulau-rusukan-kecil-di-sabah\/<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3><strong>Why Labuan?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Because Labuan was proclaimed as a Federal Territory and it is also a duty-free island.<\/li>\n<li>It is an island that you get to enjoy the beach and diving activities here.<\/li>\n<li>It is best for a weekend getaway which only takes about 2 \u00bd hours flight from KL to Labuan.<\/li>\n<li>The food is cheap especially the seafood and you get to explore the island by renting a car here.<\/li>\n<li>Labuan is a peaceful place and everyone living in harmony.<\/li>\n<li>Grab car service is convenient here. Furthermore, most of the grab drivers are driving the imported car (because of free tax) hence you get to experience to sit in different types of cars. The grab service was relatively cheap where some distance just cost us RM2 per ride only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1381 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>What to see in Labuan?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>First Day<\/strong><br \/>\nAs mentioned,&nbsp; Labuan is a place that you get to explore by car.<br \/>\nWe rented a car which cost us RM60 per day to explore the town. There are many car rental services counters available in the airport. For our case, we rented the car at the hotel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1382 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/2-1024x547.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"280\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Chimney Museum<\/strong><br \/>\nOur first stop was the Chimney Museum, which takes 20 minutes to drive from downtown to there.<br \/>\nThe famous &#8220;Chimney&#8221;, a 106 feet high red brick stack believed to be linked to the coal mining days of Labuan. The Chimney is still very much a mystery until today.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1383 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/3-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1384 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/BeFunky-collage-1024x934.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"479\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1385 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/4-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"700\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Opening Hours<\/strong>: Everyday from 8:00 am to&nbsp; 5:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><strong>Admission<\/strong>: Free<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Along the way, we stopped by at the Palm Beach Resort &amp; Spa beachside (which just took 3 minutes\u2019 drive from Chimney Museum) to enjoy the wind and wave.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1393 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1234-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"525\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1422 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/IMG_20190105_153215-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Peace Park (locally known as Taman Damai)<\/strong><br \/>\nThe next stop was at Taman Damai ( Peace Park), located in Kg Layang \u2013 Layangan, near to the beach.&nbsp;This is the Park which built as a memorial to peace.<\/p>\n<p>This place has a historical story about the surrender of the Japanese force at the end of WWII.&nbsp;This is another place for local people to get to relax and enjoy during the weekend or after work.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1389 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/BeFunky-collage11-1024x480.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"246\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Surrender Point<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is another memorial spot located in Peace Park. From the history, this is the place where Japanese forces officially surrendered their ruling on Labuan to the Australian in charge.<\/p>\n<p>From here, you get to see a nice view of the South China Sea in front of the beachside.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1392 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/BeFunky-collage111-1024x631.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"324\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mortar Caf\u00e9<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring the evening time, it is good to have a tea break at Mortar caf\u00e9 to avoid the high temperature outside. The contemporary design and relaxing music in the cafe make you wanted to stay longer in the caf\u00e9.<br \/>\nThere are many varieties of food to try in Mortar.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1394 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/123456-967x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"556\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1395 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/IMG_20190105_174017-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"700\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mr. Crab<\/strong><br \/>\nFor dinner time, we went to Mr. Crab Restaurant to try out the food.<br \/>\nThe seafood here is relatively Fresh &amp; CHEAP!<br \/>\nWe have ordered 3 dishes for 2 people and guess how much the Crab costs? RM9.00 per crab!!!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1396\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1396\" style=\"width: 525px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1396 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1234567-1024x559.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"287\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1396\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mr Crab Seafood and Steamboat Restaurant<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1397 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/12345678-1024x466.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"239\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1398 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/IMG_20190105_205012-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 2:<\/strong><br \/>\nOn day 2, we started our trip by exploring the downtown in Labuan.<br \/>\n<strong>Downtown<\/strong><br \/>\nWe randomly chose a local restaurant and tried out the \u201cKolo Mee\u201d here and walked around the town.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1400 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1234567800-1-1-707x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"760\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kg Patau-Patau<\/strong><br \/>\nAnother place of attraction in Labuan. It is just 6 minutes drive from the town.<br \/>\nThis is the water villages which are mostly lived in by the Brunei Malays.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1401 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/112-1024x534.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"274\"><\/p>\n<p>Again, after taking some nice pictures we thought of going back to the walk the market at the town.<br \/>\nMost of the stalls were going to close when we arrive, however, we managed to check out more info about Pulau Papan tour at the tourism office.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1402 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/IMG_20190106_105644-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1403 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1124-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"525\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>War Cemetery<\/strong><br \/>\nNext, we continued our road trip to the war cemetery.<br \/>\nAccording to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Labuan_War_Cemetery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Wikipedia<\/a>: <em>&#8220;This is a Commonwealth World War II graveyard in Labuan, Malaysia. Many of the personnel buried in this cemetery, including Indian and Australian troops, were killed during the Japanese invasion of Borneo or the Borneo campaign of 1945&#8221;&nbsp;<\/em><br \/>\nThe place was similar to the place where I have visited in <a href=\"newurl.com\/kanchanaburi-thailand\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kanchanaburi<\/a>&nbsp;Thailand.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1404 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/11245-1018x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"528\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1405 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/112456-1018x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"528\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u516b\u4ed9\u5e99 Ba Xian Temple<\/strong><br \/>\nIt would be easier to search the temple by typing the Chinese name: \u516b\u4ed9\u5e99 cause it was a struggle for us at first to find this place via google map.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily enough the local people willing to guide us and they even showed us the temple by driving the car to there.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1407 size-large\" style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #666666; font-size: 0.8125rem; font-style: italic;\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/IMG_20190106_130757-1024x740.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"379\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1406 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/45-1024x627.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"321\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1410 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1124567-1024x409.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"210\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>UTC &amp; Labuan Central Market<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1411\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1411\" style=\"width: 525px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-1411 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/IMG_20190106_133527-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1411\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"color: #333333; font-size: 1rem;\">We went back to the town and had a view of the market in the UTC.&nbsp;<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Labuan International Sea Port Sports Complex<\/strong><br \/>\nYou get to visit the aqua world with FREE admission. If you compare the other aqua place this is a slightly smaller museum but it\u2019s definitely no harm of paying a visit.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1412 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1-2-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"525\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1413 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/1124567121-1024x898.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"460\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ramsey Point<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring evening time, you get to enjoy the relaxing time just right outside of the sports complex.<br \/>\nHere they are selling the local Ramli Burger, Cendol and Keropok.<\/p>\n<p>While spending your time to enjoy the sunset there, having a chillaxing time in front of the beach is totally worth it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1414 \" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/11245671211-1024x524.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"613\" height=\"314\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yumcha at the Hotel rooftop bar<\/strong><br \/>\nAs Malaysian, we always enjoy the night time to have a \u201cdrink\u201d outdoor.<br \/>\nThe types of drink we would choose mainly sweet drinks, for example, Milo, Horlicks, Teh Tarik, Air Limau, etc.<br \/>\nI love the design at this rooftop bar at our hotel.<br \/>\nThe price of the drinks was cheap. The rooftop is opened to the public as well, you will get to have a meal or drink here even if you are not staying at this hotel.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1415 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/11245671211q-1024x435.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"223\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Day 3:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Pulau Papan<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is the last day of Labuan.<br \/>\nWe have decided to book a short and quick tour to Pulau Papan @9am (for an hour visit) before rushing back to the airport to catch the flight at 12 pm.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1416 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/11245671211098-1024x738.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"378\"><\/p>\n<p>From the town to Pulau Papan, it just took about 15 minutes speed boat ride.<br \/>\nIt was a private tour for both of us along with a tour guide to introduce us about the island.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1418 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/11245671211098111-1024x649.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"333\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1417 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/11245671211098111123-1024x479.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"246\"><\/p>\n<p>We get to know more about this island and took some nice pictures then heading back to the town and checked out of the hotel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coconut Pudding<\/strong><br \/>\nOur last mission was to try out the coconut pudding at Labuan.<br \/>\nAfter booking a grab car, the driver stopped us at the restaurant and take away the pudding then sending us to the airport for departure.<br \/>\nWhile on the way, she shared with us if we have known her earlier, she would have recommended us to try out another seafood restaurant in Labuan.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1419 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/IMG_20190107_113212-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"700\"><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Pulau Rusukan<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is another island to explore but we did not get a chance to visit that time. If you love diving, I believe this would be another paradise to you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Ferry to Brunei<\/strong><br \/>\nI would definitely consider taking&nbsp;a ferry trip to Brunei from Labuan terminal for my next visit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where did we stay?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Hotel Labuan Point<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1420 size-large\" src=\"newurl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/IMG_20190106_174141-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\"><\/p>\n<p>Despite it was not situated in the middle of the downtown, this hotel provides a quiet place to stay. As long as you are using Grab Car or renting a car at Labuan, it is not a big issue for you to go everywhere.<br \/>\nAn affordable price for two persons. The rooftop bar design for nice to hang out with friends or for couple dating.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did I feel about Labuan?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Overall I like about Labuan how everyone living in a peaceful and harmonious life together. The driving pace is in slow motion and it is a close community where everyone seems to know each other.<\/p>\n<p>One of the highlights is the daytime temperature was super high as compare in KL. There was no joke and according to <a href=\"http:\/\/However, daytime temperatures maybe slightly higher than other parts of Malaysia.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">travel wiki<\/a>, apparently, daytime temperatures may be slightly higher than other parts of Malaysia.<br \/>\nDespite the hot sun, there are many things you get to explore in Labuan. Furthermore, there are a lot of FREE things you could do here.
